Emily Askin (Instructor)

Emily is delighted to be back in Pittsburgh and a member of SCIT. After graduating from Kenyon College in Theater Studies, Ms. Askin packed her rucksack and hitched a ride to New York City to pursue her dream of starring in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business. When the coveted role wrongfully handed to her arch nemesis Nathan Lane, Ms. Askin had to make lemonade. Discovering she could channel her heartbreak through her comedy, Ms. Askin enrolled in her very first class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and hasn’t looked back. She has trained with Seth Morris, Billy Merritt, Anthony King, Joe Wengert and Shannon O’Neill. Emily is a proud member of NYC’s Bombardo and the SCIT’s Real True History.
