Kasey is an improvisor, actor and teacher.  She trained at several improv theaters in New York City, is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater from the New School University.  Kasey has studied at the Magnet Theater, under Armando Diaz and Mark Grenier and with Annoyance Theater founders Mark Sutton, Joe Bill and Susan Messing. At the People’s Improv Theater, she has studied with Kurt Braunohler, Pat Shay, Matt Donnelly, Rebekka Johnson and Ali Farahnakian.  A veteran of several improv groups, she has performed at bagillions of locations around New York City.  She was a member of the Musical Improv group, “8 Bar Cut,” which featured seasoned Broadway and Musical Theater vets creating a completely improvised musical and a cast member of Sunday Night Improv, the long running improv comedy jam at the 78th Street Theater Lab.

She appeared in Rona Mark’s award winning cult film “Strange Girls” as bully Marci Maguire, complete with thick Pittsburgh accent and mullet.   Kasey recently finished Ms. Mark’s newest film “The Crab”, which was an official selection of the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2010.  She has also appeared in the award winning short film “Girl Talk,” the IFC series “Z Rock,” and a 22 minute sketch pilot, “Lady Parts”.  Kasey also originated the role of Polly Pry in the New York premier of Trey Parker’s “Cannibal! The Musical!”.   Some of her favorite regional roles include Judas in an all women production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”, Sister Helena in “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” and Amanda in “For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls”.

She often performs as half of improv duo “Willard & Birch” with her special gentlemen friend, Justin Zell.
