PITTSBURGH, Penn. February 9, 2011 – Steel City Improv Theater (SCIT)
is expanding the Cultural District to Pittsburgh’s Deutschtown
neighborhood.

The SCIT is sure to bring laughter to the Steel City. The theater,
launched by improv instructors Kasey Daley and Justin Zell, focuses on
improv training classes and shows several nights a week. The SCIT located
at 808 Tripoli Street hosts improv shows every Friday and
Saturday evenings, as well as “Totally Free Mondays,” which will
feature The SCIT’s own long-form house teams.

For those who enjoy the shows and want to learn more, beginner to
advanced improv classes are offered in addition to musical improv
training and sketch writing classes. Learning improv helps to create
trust in yourself as well as those around you. SCIT improv classes are
great for businesses and groups interested in creating a better unity
between co-workers and group members.

The SCIT focuses on long from improvisation, which involves a team
of people creating around a half hour of completely original scenes
based on a single suggestion from the audience. The scenes are created
on the spot, have never been performed or rehearsed before and
will never be seen again. For a complete schedule of shows, to sign up for classes
or for more information visit The SCIT’s website at
